Who is Youzar

Youzar (pronounced like Jo-zar) is an Artist, Natural and Psychedelic Medicine Practitioner, Ceremonial Leader, Sound Healing Facilitator, Traditional Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, and a student of Zen Buddhism. He has completed 600 hours of Yoga Alliance certified training as well as other spiritual and medicinal apprenticeship and training. Youzar completed an apprenticeship in facilitating Bufo Alvarius and Kambo ceremonies in Mayan Mexico and has since facilitated nearly 1000 ceremonies across 6 countries and 4 continents. Additionally, he was trained in Traditional Kundalini Yoga in the lineage of Mahavatar Babaji in Rishikesh, India and was trained in Sound Medicine by René Najera of The Medicine of Sound in Xpu-Ha, Mexico. Youzar is a member of the Sangha Council at the Detroit Zen Center. He holds a certificate in Risk Assessment and Crisis Intervention in Psychedelic Ceremonies from the Academia de Medicina Alternativa & Naturopatía Indígena.

Led by spirit, Youzar spent 4 years outside of the country on a wandering retreat away from American life. During this time he lived with the Shamans of South America, Yogis of India, and many Healers, Alchemists, and Magicians in Mayan Mexico. While having a deeply transformational experience in Egypt, he realized it was time to bring these healing modalities home. Youzar now leads healing events around the US and abroad. To date, he has facilitated healing experiences in Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Egypt, India and the US.

Prior to Youzar’s wandering retreat he spent 8 years in software engineering helping early stage tech start-ups build their mobile applications and scale their businesses. Before his career in tech he worked for Shell Oil Co. as a Procurement Lead & Negotiator where he was identified as a potential future Senior Executive for the company and trained for leadership. Youzar graduated Cum Laude from Michigan State University.
